This was such a wonderful book about a woman who endured under the most trying circumstances. She was a true inspiration.

I wish I could speak to the author. Reading this book makes me wish I could somehow convey to the black race that not all whites hate blacks. I wish there is someway to erase the history of our country not only concerning black history but also our history concerning Indian History. My only solace is that God in in control. Faithful and Just. And He will recompense His judgement in His time.

Very interesting but have read several books in this genre. It could have been a little more exciting.
What a shame our Founding Fathers did not outlaw the institution of Slavery after the Revolutionary War. The institution of Slavery will forever be a stain on the Red, White, and Blue. This story was a truly amazing first hand account of the horrors people had to endure under this evil institution.
Riveting and heartrending
What a thoroughly deplorable institution slavery was and is. The very idea of one person owning another makes my stomach roil. God created all men in his image. Nowhere in the Bible does it say one color of skin is more worthy of freedom than another. Thank you for sharing your story, I imagine the telling came at great emotional cost.
I see the reason for fear of an level playing field.
Amazing! Had to read this book for college & I would definitely read it again in my free time. Best book I have read all semester.
INCIDENTS IN THE LIFE OF A SLAVE GIRL
This is a very good biography written by the author who was a slave girl in the 1800's. It gave me a good picture of what the slaves went through as "being owned" by white plantation owners. It is very sad in that the author had to become a fugitive and live in seclusion for 7 years of her life. It also gives a good picture of her raising her two children and how she got herself and her children free of slavery. A very good read and eye-opening.

I had this book among a few others to chose from for an assignment and expected to choose anything but this one assuming everyone would choose it but it was the most interesting. I am forever changed by this story! I have never sobbed so outwardly while reading a book before. Some happy tears as well' I highly recommend this book to anyone,
